  Advanced Mesothelioma Interviews With Experts
Mesothelioma Web has sponsored a series of interviews with doctors, a patient, and an attorney, some for exclusive publication on this site and others for publication here and on WebMD.com, to provide perspective on what mesothelioma is, how it's treated and what it's like to live with the disease. The following are transcripts of those interviews:

  1. Current Therapeutical Approaches for Mesothelioma with W. Roy Smythe, M.D.
    Dr. Smythe is a surgeon at M.D. Anderson Cancer Center. In this interview, he dicusses current therapeutical approaches for mesothelioma, particularly his trial of extrapleural pneumonectomy in conjunction with intensity modulated radiation therapy.

  2. Intensity Modulated Radiation Therapy as an Adjuvant to Extrapleural Pneumonectomy with Dr. Craig Stevens
    Dr. Stevens is a surgeon at M.D. Anderson Cancer Center. In this interview, he dicusses current trials on extrapleural pneumonectomy followed by IMRT (Intensity Modulated Radiation Therapy) for treatment of mesothelioma.

  3. Surgical Approach to Mesothelioma with David J. Sugarbaker, M.D.
    Dr. Sugarbaker is a world-renowned expert in the diagnosis and treatment of pleural mesothelioma. In this interview, he gives specific information about the disease from initial symptoms to current therapy.

  4. Living with Mesothelioma with Belle McGuckin
    Belle was diagnosed with mesothelioma in October of 1998. Local doctors in Canada knew little about the disease. But she found hope and help through the Mesothelioma Web that put her in touch with Boston's Dr. David Sugarbaker.

  5. New Treatments for Lung Cancer with Roman Perez-Soler, M.D.
    Dr. Perez-Soler is an extensively published and well-regarded medical professional with specialties in intermal medicine and medical oncology. He defines lung cancers and talks about the latest treatments.
