  Health House
In 1993 when the program began many in the residential building community lacked the information needed to build homes that provided ventilation, filtration and moisture control.  To meet its mission, the Health House program directed its attention to developing standards, testing protocols, and a training program for builders. The program has helped to position the American Lung Association as a leading source of consumer information for making new and existing homes healthier, more energy efficient and more environmentally friendly.

Today the American Lung Association Health House program continues to educate consumers, manufacturers, builders, legislators and other stakeholders about what can be done to improve the quality of home environments and the lung health of home occupants.

The Health House® program is a collaborative effort of the American Lung Association of the Upper Midwest® and the American Lung Association® national office to provide quality information for home builders and home owners regarding home design, construction, renovation and operation with a focus on healthy indoor air quality.  Health House seeks to build a unique blend of sound medical science integrated with proven building science in a format understandable to both homebuilders and homeowners.
